चिंतयित्वा तु धर्मात्मा प्रभावम् तम् महात्मनाम् ।
हित कारिणम् एक अग्रम् लक्ष्मणम् राघवो अब्रवीत् ॥ ॥३-७५-२॥
Cintayitvā tu dharmātmā prabhāvam tam mahātmanām |
Hita kāriṇam eka agram lakṣmaṇam rāghavo abravīt ॥3-75-2॥
Translation
Having reflected upon the spiritual power of those great souls, the righteous-souled Rama spoke to Lakshmana, who was his well-wisher and single-mindedly devoted to him.

उन महात्माओं (मतंग मुनि के शिष्यों) के प्रभाव का चिंतन करने के बाद, धर्मात्मा राम ने अपने एकनिष्ठ और हितैषी भाई लक्ष्मण से कहा।
English Commentary
Sri Rama is described here as 'Dharmatma' because he deeply understands the essence of righteousness and the power of asceticism. He was meditating on the influence of Matanga Muni’s disciples. The adjectives used for Lakshmana—'Eka agram' (single-minded) and 'Hita karinam' (well-wisher)—define his character as one solely focused on Rama’s welfare. Rama addresses him knowing that Lakshmana is the only one capable of fully grasping his spiritual reflections. This marks the transition from witnessing the past glory of the sages to planning the future course of action with his most trusted ally.

यहाँ श्री राम को 'धर्मात्मा' कहा गया है क्योंकि वे संतों के प्रभाव और धर्म के मर्म को समझते हैं। वे मतंग मुनि के शिष्यों के तप के प्रभाव का मनन कर रहे थे। लक्ष्मण के लिए 'एकाग्रम्' (एकनिष्ठ) और 'हितकारिणम्' (हितैषी) विशेषण यह बताते हैं कि लक्ष्मण का ध्यान केवल राम की सेवा और हित में था। राम जानते थे कि लक्ष्मण ही एकमात्र ऐसे व्यक्ति हैं जो उनके मन की बात और आध्यात्मिक अनुभवों को पूर्णतः समझ सकते हैं। यह संवाद दो भाइयों के बीच केवल वार्तालाप नहीं, बल्कि आध्यात्मिक अनुभवों का साझाकरण है।
