तत् अधीनम् हि मे कार्यम् सीतायाः परिमार्गणम् ।
इति ब्रुवाणम् तम् वीरम् सौमित्रिः इदम् अब्रवीत् ॥ ॥३-७५-९॥
Tat adhīnam hi me kāryam sītāyāḥ parimārgaṇam |
Iti bruvāṇam tam vīram saumitriḥ idam abravīt ॥3-75-9॥
Translation
"For the task of searching for Sita is indeed dependent on him." To the heroic Rama, who was speaking thus, Saumitri (Lakshmana) said this.
हिंदी अनुवाद
"सीता की खोज का मेरा कार्य निश्चित रूप से उस (सुग्रीव) के ही अधीन है।" ऐसा कहते हुए उस वीर (राम) से सुमित्रानंदन लक्ष्मण ने यह वचन कहा।
English Commentary
Sri Rama displays immense humility and pragmatism here. Despite being the Lord of the worlds, he admits that in this wilderness, the mission to find Sita is 'Tad adheenam' (dependent on him/Sugriva). This acknowledgement of dependency on a Vanara emphasizes Rama’s role-play as a human who respects logical limitations and the need for allies. He does not use miraculous powers to bypass the natural order. Lakshmana, hearing this candid admission from his brother, responds supportively. It highlights that achieving great goals often requires recognizing one's need for help.

श्री राम यहाँ अत्यंत विनम्रता और यथार्थवाद का परिचय देते हैं। त्रिलोकीनाथ होते हुए भी वे स्वीकार करते हैं कि इस वन-प्रांतर में सीता को खोजने के लिए उन्हें स्थानीय सहायता (सुग्रीव) की आवश्यकता है। 'तद अधीनम्' (उसके अधीन) शब्द राम की निरहंकारिता को दर्शाता है। वे मानव रूप में अपनी सीमाओं का सम्मान कर रहे हैं। लक्ष्मण, जो राम के मनोभावों को समझते हैं, राम की इस बात का उत्तर देते हैं, जो अगले श्लोक में है। यह दर्शाता है कि भगवान भी मानवीय लीला करते समय सहयोग और मित्रता का मान रखते हैं।
