शीघ्रम् तौ रूपसंपन्नौ अनुज्ञातौ महर्षिणा ।
प्रस्थितौ धृत चापा असी सीतया सह राघवौ ॥३-८-२०॥
śīghram tau rūpasaṃpannau anujñātau maharṣiṇā । prasthitau dhṛta cāpā asī sītayā saha rāghavau ॥3-8-20॥
Translation
Permitted by the great sage, those two handsome scions of Raghu, holding bows and swords, set out quickly along with Sita.

महर्षि (सुतीक्ष्ण) द्वारा अनुमति प्राप्त वे दोनों रूपवान रघुकुल नंदन, धनुष और तलवार धारण किए हुए, सीता के साथ शीघ्रता से चल पड़े।
English Commentary
This concluding verse of Sarga 8 summarizes their departure. Acting on the sage's advice to leave before the heat intensifies, they move śīghram (quickly). The text reiterates their physical beauty (rūpasaṃpannau) and their martial gear (dhṛta cāpā asī), creating a striking visual of handsome warrior-princes in the wild. The mention of the sage's permission (anujñātau) confirms that their departure is righteous and formally sanctioned. With Sita by their side, the trio forms a complete unit of Dharma (righteousness), Artha (resources/weapons), and Kama (love/family), moving forward into the deeper mysteries of the forest. This sets the stage for the philosophical discussion that immediately follows in the next canto.

यह सर्ग 8 का अंतिम श्लोक है। 'शीघ्रम्' (जल्दी) शब्द मुनि के उस आदेश का पालन दर्शाता है जिसमें उन्होंने धूप तेज होने से पहले जाने को कहा था। 'रूपसंपन्नौ' (रूपवान/सौंदर्य से युक्त) विशेषण यह बताता है कि वन के कष्टों ने अभी उनकी कांति को कम नहीं किया है। 'धृत चापा असी' (धनुष और तलवार धारण किए हुए) पुनः उनकी क्षत्रिय पहचान को रेखांकित करता है। सीता का साथ होना (सीतया सह) चित्र को पूर्ण करता है। यहाँ 'राघवौ' (दो राघव) शब्द का प्रयोग दोनों भाइयों के लिए किया गया है, जो उनके कुल की प्रतिष्ठा का स्मरण कराता है। वे महर्षि के आशीर्वाद रूपी कवच के साथ अब घने वन की ओर बढ़ रहे हैं। यह प्रस्थान एक नए अध्याय का आरंभ है।
