Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
सुखोषिताः स्म भगवन् त्वया पूज्येन पूजिताः ।
आपृच्छामः प्रयास्यामो मुनयः त्वरयन्ति नः ॥ ॥३-८-५॥
Sukhoṣitāḥ sma bhagavan tvayā pūjyena pūjitāḥ । āpṛcchāmaḥ prayāsyāmo munayaḥ tvarayanti naḥ ॥ ॥3-8-5॥
Translation
"We have stayed happily, O Lord, honored by you who are worthy of honor. We ask for your permission to depart; the sages are hurrying us."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"हे भगवन! पूजनीय आपके द्वारा सत्कार पाकर हम यहाँ सुखपूर्वक रहे। अब हम आपसे विदा मांगते हैं और प्रस्थान करेंगे; (अन्य) मुनि हमें जल्दी करने को कह रहे हैं।"
English Commentary
Rama begins with gratitude, acknowledging the comfort of their stay ('sukho shitah'). He humbly notes that he was honored by one who himself deserves honor ('pujyena'). When stating his intent to leave, Rama employs graceful diplomacy. Instead of saying "I want to go," he says "munayah tvarayanti nah" (the sages are hurrying us). By attributing the urgency to the collective call of other ascetics, he frames his departure as a response to duty rather than a rejection of Sutikshna’s hospitality. This ensures the sage feels respected while Rama achieves his objective of moving on.

राम अपनी बात कृतज्ञता से शुरू करते हैं—'सुखोषिताः स्म' (हम सुख से रहे)। वे ऋषि को 'पूज्येन' (स्वयं पूजने योग्य) कहकर उनका मान बढ़ाते हैं, यह कहते हुए कि एक पूजनीय व्यक्ति ने हमारी पूजा (सेवा) की। प्रस्थान का कारण बताते समय राम कूटनीति का प्रयोग करते हैं। वे यह नहीं कहते कि "मैं जाना चाहता हूँ", बल्कि कहते हैं "मुनयः त्वरयन्ति नः" (अन्य मुनि हमें जल्दी बुला रहे हैं)। वे अपनी व्यक्तिगत इच्छा के बजाय ऋषियों के समूह के निमंत्रण को जाने का कारण बताते हैं। इससे सुतीक्ष्ण को बुरा नहीं लगेगा क्योंकि यह एक सामुदायिक कर्तव्य का पालन है।
