अहं चैव मदीयाश्च सर्वे तव वशानुगाः ।
न ते किम्चिदभिप्रायं व्याहन्तुमहमुत्सहे ॥ ॥२-१०-३४॥
Ahaṃ caiva madīyāśca sarve tava vaśānugāḥ । Na te kimcidabhiprāyaṃ vyāhantumahamutsahe ॥ ॥2-10-34॥
Translation
I myself and all my people are under your control. I do not dare to thwart any wish or intention of yours.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मैं और मेरे सभी सगे-संबंधी (तथा सेवक) तुम्हारे वश में हैं। मैं तुम्हारी किसी भी इच्छा (अभिप्राय) को टालने का साहस नहीं कर सकता।
English Commentary
Dasharatha here declares absolute submission. By stating that he and his entire retinue are vaśānugāḥ (under her control), he effectively transfers his sovereignty to Kaikeyi. The phrase "I do not dare to thwart" reveals the power dynamic: emotionally, the Emperor is subservient to the Queen. This total surrender is the fatal flaw; a king's primary allegiance should be to Dharma and the state, not to the whims of a spouse. This blanket assurance paves the way for the disaster that follows.

राजा दशरथ यहाँ पूर्ण समर्पण की मुद्रा में हैं। 'तव वशानुगाः' (तुम्हारे वश में) कहकर वे न केवल अपना, बल्कि पूरे राज्य का अधिकार कैकेयी को सौंप रहे हैं। यह प्रेम की अतिशयता है जहाँ राजा अपनी सत्ता को पत्नी के चरणों में रख देता है। 'न... उत्सहे' (साहस नहीं कर सकता) वाक्यांश यह दर्शाता है कि दशरथ के लिए कैकेयी को ना कहना असंभव है। यह कथन जितना प्रेमपूर्ण है, राजनीतिक रूप से उतना ही खतरनाक है, क्योंकि एक राजा को केवल धर्म के वश में होना चाहिए, किसी व्यक्ति विशेष के नहीं।
