अपविद्धानि कैकेय्या तानि भूमिं प्रपेदिरे ।
तया तान्यपविद्धानि माल्यान्याभरणानि च ॥२-१०-७॥

English Commentary
This continues the imagery of the previous verse. The discarding of ornaments onto the floor represents a rejection of 'Shri' (auspiciousness/fortune). For a married woman (Sumangali) to cast off her jewelry is traditionally considered a deeply inauspicious sign. Kaikeyi is so blinded by obstinacy that she disregards omens. The scattered jewels symbolize her scattered wisdom and the imminent fragmentation of the royal family's happiness.

यह श्लोक पिछले श्लोक की निरंतरता है। आभूषणों का जमीन पर गिरना 'श्री' (लक्ष्मी/सौभाग्य) के अपमान जैसा है। एक सुहागन स्त्री के लिए आभूषण त्यागना बहुत बड़ा अपशकुन माना जाता है। कैकेयी अपने हठ में इतनी अंधी हो गई है कि वह मंगल-अमंगल का विचार भी छोड़ चुकी है। बिखरे हुए आभूषण उसके बिखरे हुए विवेक और अयोध्या के बिखरने वाले भविष्य का प्रतीक हैं।
