अशोभयन्त वसुधां नक्षत्राणि यथा नभः ।
क्रोधागारे निपतिता सा बभौ मलिनाम्बरा ॥२-१०-८॥

English Commentary
Valmiki paints a contrast here. The jewels scattered on the floor shine like stars, beautifying the earth, yet the Queen who wore them lies in 'malināmbarā' (soiled/dirty garments). The Chamber of Wrath is filled with the debris of luxury. This scene is carefully curated to shock King Dasharatha. The juxtaposition of discarded beauty (jewels) and deliberate wretchedness (dirty clothes) is designed to trigger both his desire and his pity.

वाल्मीकि जी विरोधाभास का चित्रण कर रहे हैं। जमीन पर बिखरे हीरे-मोती तारों जैसे चमक रहे हैं, लेकिन उन्हें पहनने वाली रानी 'मलिनाम्बरा' (मैले वस्त्रों में) है। कोपभवन का वातावरण उदासी और वैभव के मलबे से भरा है। यह दृश्य राजा दशरथ के मन में गहरा आघात करने के लिए रचा गया है। सुंदरता (आभूषण) और कुरूपता (मैले वस्त्र/क्रोध) का यह मिश्रण दशरथ की कामुकता और दया दोनों को जगाने के लिए है।
