कच्चित् सर्वे ऽनुरक्तास्त्वां कुलपुत्रा: प्रधानत: ।
कच्चित्प्राणांस्तवार्थेषु सन्त्यजन्ति समाहिता: ॥ ॥२-१००-३५॥
Kaccit sarve 'nuraktāstvām kulaputrāḥ pradhānataḥ । Kaccitprāṇāṃstavārtheṣu santyajanti samāhitāḥ ॥ ॥2-100-35॥
Translation
Are the scions of noble families and chief ministers devoted to you? Are they disciplined enough to sacrifice even their lives for your sake if necessary?

क्या प्रधान कुलीन पुरुष तुमसे प्रेम रखते हैं (तुम्हारे प्रति अनुरक्त हैं)? क्या वे चित्त एकाग्र करके तुम्हारे लिए (तुम्हारे हित के लिए) अपने प्राण त्यागने को भी तैयार हैं?
English Commentary
In statecraft, a king's stability relies heavily on the loyalty of the aristocracy and high-ranking officials (kulaputrāḥ). Rama inquires whether these key figures serve Bharata out of genuine affection (anurakta) rather than fear or mere obligation. A mercenary force may flee in danger, but a devoted inner circle will sacrifice their lives (prāṇān santyajanti) for the king's cause. This verse highlights the importance of charismatic leadership where the king commands not just the obedience, but the hearts of his core administration. Without this unwavering loyalty from the elite, the throne remains vulnerable to internal coups.

राजनीति में राजा की शक्ति उसके निकटतम सहयोगियों और कुलपुत्रों (कुलीन वर्ग) की निष्ठा पर निर्भर करती है। राम यहाँ भरत से यह सुनिश्चित करना चाहते हैं कि प्रशासन के उच्च पदों पर आसीन व्यक्ति केवल वेतनभोगी कर्मचारी न हों, बल्कि वे भावनात्मक रूप से राजा से जुड़े हों। 'अनुरक्त' शब्द का अर्थ है कि वे भय से नहीं, बल्कि प्रेम और निष्ठा के कारण राजा का साथ दें। यदि प्रधान अधिकारी राजा के लिए प्राण न्यौछावर करने को तत्पर हैं, तो राज्य सुरक्षित है। यह श्लोक नेतृत्व की उस पराकाष्ठा को दर्शाता है जहाँ नेता अपने अनुयायियों का पूर्ण विश्वास जीत लेता है।
