धर्मशास्त्रेषु मुख्येषु विद्यमानेषु दुर्बुधा: ।
बुद्धिमान्वीक्षिकीं प्राप्य निरर्थं प्रवदन्ति ते ॥ ॥२-१००-४०॥
Dharmaśāstreṣu mukhyeṣu vidyamāneṣu durbudhāḥ । Buddhimānvīkṣikīṃ prāpya nirarthaṃ pravadanti te ॥ ॥2-100-40॥
Translation
While the principal scriptures of duty (Dharma Shastras) exist, these fools with perverted intelligence rely only on logic/dialectics (Anvikshiki) and speak distinct nonsense.

श्रेष्ठ धर्मशास्त्रों के विद्यमान रहते हुए भी, वे दुर्बुद्धि लोग केवल तर्क-विद्या (आन्वीक्षिकी) का सहारा लेकर निरर्थक बकवाद करते रहते हैं।
English Commentary
Continuing the warning against sophists, Rama critiques the misuse of Anvikshiki (science of logic/reasoning). While logic is valuable, these individuals use it to undermine the Dharma Shastras (codes of ethics and law) rather than support them. By relying solely on critical intellect (buddhim) and ignoring established wisdom, they engage in nirarthaṃ pravadanti—useless or destructive speech. In a kingdom, if the intellectual class uses logic merely to deconstruct laws and traditions without respect for the cohesive moral fabric, it leads to social instability. Rama advises that logic should serve Dharma, not displace it.

यह पिछले श्लोक का विस्तार है। राम स्पष्ट करते हैं कि समस्या तर्क (logic) में नहीं, बल्कि धर्मशास्त्रों की उपेक्षा में है। 'आन्वीक्षिकी' (तर्कशास्त्र) का उपयोग सत्य को खोजने के लिए होना चाहिए, न कि धर्म को काटने के लिए। ये 'दुर्बुधा:' (खोटी बुद्धि वाले) लोग शास्त्रों में लिखे कर्तव्यों और मर्यादाओं को मानने के बजाय, अपने शुष्क तर्कों से हर चीज़ का खंडन करते हैं। प्रशासन में ऐसे विचार अराजकता फैलाते हैं क्योंकि वे कानून और परंपरा के प्रति सम्मान खत्म कर देते हैं। राजा को ऐसे वितंडावाद से दूर रहना चाहिए।
