कच्चिदर्थं च धर्मं च कामं च जयतां वर ।
विभज्य काले कालज्ञ सर्वान् वरद सेवसे ॥ ॥२-१००-६४॥
Kaccidarthaṃ ca dharmaṃ ca kāmaṃ ca jayatāṃ vara । Vibhajya kāle kālajña sarvān varada sevase ॥ ॥2-100-64॥
Translation
O best of conquerors, O bestower of boons! Being a knower of the right time, do you attend to Dharma, Artha, and Kama by dividing your time appropriately among them?

हे विजेताओं में श्रेष्ठ और वर देने वाले भरत! क्या तुम समय के जानकार (कालज्ञ) होकर, समय का उचित विभाजन करके धर्म, अर्थ और काम—इन तीनों का सेवन करते हो?
English Commentary
Following the warning against conflict between the life goals, Rama offers the solution: Time Management. Addressing Bharata as Kālajña (knower of timing), he advises dividing the day (vibhajya kāle) to cater to each goal distinctively. A King must allocate specific hours for religious/judicial duties (Dharma), administrative/economic duties (Artha), and leisure/rest (Kama). By compartmentalizing these activities, a ruler ensures a balanced life and a stable administration without burnout or negligence.

पिछले श्लोक में संघर्ष से बचने की सलाह थी, यहाँ समाधान दिया गया है: 'समय प्रबंधन' (Time Management)। राम भरत को 'कालज्ञ' (समय को जानने वाला) बनने को कहते हैं। राजा को दिनचर्या तय करनी चाहिए—कब पूजा और न्याय करना है (धर्म), कब वित्त और प्रशासन देखना है (अर्थ), और कब विश्राम करना है (काम)। यदि 'काले विभज्य' (समय बांटकर) इनका सेवन किया जाए, तो ये परस्पर विरोधी नहीं होते। यह श्लोक अनुशासित दिनचर्या (Daily Routine) का महत्व बताता है।
