अयोध्यां गच्छ भरत प्रकृतीरनुरञ्जय ।
शत्रुघ्नसहितो वीर सह सर्वैर्द्विजातिभि: ॥२-१०७-१५॥
Ayodhyāṃ gaccha bharata prakṛtīranurañjaya |
Śatrughnasahito vīra saha sarvairdvijātibhiḥ ॥2-107-15॥
Translation
Go to Ayodhya, O Hero Bharata, along with Shatrughna and all the Brahmanas, and delight the subjects (prakritis).

हे वीर भरत! तुम शत्रुघ्न और सभी ब्राह्मणों के साथ अयोध्या जाओ और वहाँ प्रजा (प्रकृतियों) को प्रसन्न (अनुरंजित) करो।
English Commentary
Transitioning from philosophy to operational command, Rama instructs Bharata to return. The phrase 'Prakritir anuranjaya' is the essence of Kingship in the Ramayana context—the word 'Raja' itself implies one who keeps the people happy (Ranj). Rama deliberately pairs the brothers: just as he keeps Lakshmana, he assigns Shatrughna to Bharata, ensuring neither is alone. This restores balance. The inclusion of 'Dvijatibhih' (twice-born/Brahmins) underscores that governance must be rooted in wisdom and counsel. Rama speaks with the authority of the eldest, delegating the administration of Ayodhya to his capable younger brother.

अब राम व्यावहारिक निर्देश दे रहे हैं। 'प्रकृती: अनुरञ्जय'—राजा का मूल धर्म प्रजा का रंजन (प्रसन्न) करना है। 'राजा' शब्द की व्युत्पत्ति ही 'रञ्जयति इति राजा' (जो रंजन करे वही राजा) है। राम स्पष्ट करते हैं कि भरत अकेले नहीं, बल्कि शत्रुघ्न के साथ शासन करें। यह भाइयों का विभाजन है—राम के साथ लक्ष्मण, और भरत के साथ शत्रुघ्न। 'द्विजातिभि:' (ब्राह्मणों) का उल्लेख इसलिए है क्योंकि वैदिक शासन व्यवस्था में धर्मगुरुओं और मंत्रियों के साथ मिलकर ही राज्य चलाया जाता है। राम यहाँ एक शासक की भाँति आदेश दे रहे हैं, वनवासी की भाँति याचना नहीं कर रहे।
