सुसन्धेरपि पुत्रौ द्वौ ध्रुवसन्धि: प्रसेनजित् ।
यशस्वी ध्रुवसन्धेस्तु भरतो रिपुसूदन: ॥२-११०-१४॥
Susandherapi putrau dvau dhruvasandhiḥ prasenajit । Yaśasvī dhruvasandhestu bharato ripusūdanaḥ ॥2-110-14॥
Translation
Susandhi had two sons—Dhruvasandhi and Prasenajit. To Dhruvasandhi was born the illustrious destroyer of enemies, Bharata.

सुसन्धि के भी दो पुत्र हुए—'ध्रुवसन्धि' और 'प्रसेनजित'। ध्रुवसन्धि के पुत्र शत्रुओं का नाश करने वाले यशस्वी 'भरत' हुए।
English Commentary
Susandhi’s lineage splits into two branches via his sons Dhruvasandhi and Prasenajit. The succession continues through Dhruvasandhi to his son Bharata. It is important to distinguish this Bharata from Rama's brother or the famous Bharata (son of Shakuntala). This Bharata is an ancestor in the Solar Dynasty, described here as Ripusudana (slayer of enemies), maintaining the warrior archetype of the clan.

वंश आगे बढ़ता है—सुसन्धि के दो पुत्रों में राज्य ध्रुवसन्धि की ओर गया (या वे प्रमुख थे)। ध्रुवसन्धि के पुत्र 'भरत' हुए। पाठकों को ध्यान रखना चाहिए कि यह भरत कैकेयी-पुत्र भरत या दुष्यंत-पुत्र भरत नहीं हैं, बल्कि इक्ष्वाकु वंश के एक पूर्वज हैं। 'रिपुसूदन' विशेषण बताता है कि वे भी एक महान योद्धा थे। वंशावली में नामों की पुनरावृत्ति भारतीय परंपरा में सामान्य है।
