इत्युक्त्वा ऽश्रुपरीताक्षो भ्रातरं विससर्ज ह ।
॥२-११२-२८॥
Ityuktvā 'śruparītākṣo bhrātaraṃ visasarja ha । ॥2-112-28॥
Translation
Having spoken thus, with eyes filled with tears, he bade farewell to his brother.

ऐसा कहकर, आँसुओं से भरे नेत्रों वाले राम ने भाई (भरत) को विदा किया।
English Commentary
The stoic facade of Rama finally cracks. The phrase aśruparītākṣaḥ (eyes overlaid/filled with tears) reveals the immense emotional cost of his decision. He has successfully convinced Bharata to leave, but the act of sending him away (visasarja) breaks his heart. Up until this point, Rama had to be strong to act as the anchor for everyone else. Now that the resolution is reached, the sorrow of separation surfaces. It humanizes Rama, showing that his adherence to Dharma is not due to a lack of feeling, but practiced despite overwhelming grief.

अब तक राम 'हिमवान इव' (हिमालय की तरह) स्थिर थे, लेकिन विदाई के अंतिम क्षण में उनका धैर्य भी जवाब दे गया। 'अश्रुपरीताक्षो' (आँसुओं से व्याप्त आँखों वाले) शब्द राम की मानवीय वेदना को दर्शाता है। यद्यपि वे धर्म के अवतार हैं, किंतु वे पत्थर नहीं हैं। भरत को खाली हाथ (बिना राम के) लौटाना और स्वयं वन की ओर मुड़ना उनके लिए भी हृदयविदारक है। 'विससर्ज' (विदा किया/छोड़ दिया) क्रिया अंत का सूचक है—संवाद समाप्त हुआ, तर्क समाप्त हुए, अब केवल वियोग शेष है। यह छोटा सा श्लोक राम के भीतर चल रहे द्वंद्व—राजा का कर्तव्य बनाम भाई का प्रेम—का मूक साक्षी है।
