ह्लादितस्तेन वाक्येन शुभेन शुभदर्शन: ।
राम: संहृष्टवदनस्तानृषीनभ्यपूजयत् ॥ ॥२-११२-८॥
Hlāditastena vākyena śubhena śubhadarśanaḥ । Rāma: saṃhṛṣṭavadanastānṛṣīnabhyapūjayat ॥ ॥2-112-8॥
Translation
Gladdened by those auspicious words, the handsome Rama, with a joyful face, paid homage to those sages.

उस शुभ वचन से आह्लादित और प्रसन्न मुख वाले शुभदर्शन राम ने उन ऋषियों का पूजन (अभिनंदन) किया।
English Commentary
Rama's reaction is one of visible relief and joy. Throughout the debate, Rama had to steel himself against Bharata’s intense devotion, which is a difficult task for a loving brother. The sages' intervention validated Rama's stance, providing external, divine confirmation that his decision to stay in the forest was correct. The descriptors hlādita (gladdened) and saṃhṛṣṭavadanaḥ (joyful-faced) contrast with the earlier tension. Rama honors (abhyapūjayat) the sages not just out of custom, but out of gratitude for resolving the deadlock. They provided the 'casting vote' that allowed Rama to uphold his promise without seeming cruel to his brother.
