वसिष्ऺठो वामदेवश्च जाबालिश्च दृढव्रत: ।
अग्रत: प्रययु: सर्वे मन्त्रिणो मन्त्रपूजिता: ॥ ॥२-११३-२॥
Vasiṣṭho vāmadevaśca jābāliśca dṛḍhavrataḥ । Agrataḥ prayayuḥ sarve mantriṇo mantrapūjitāḥ ॥ ॥2-113-2॥
Translation
Vasistha, Vamadeva, and Jabali of firm vows, along with all the ministers honored for their counsel, went in the front.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वसिष्ठ, वामदेव और दृढ़ व्रत वाले जाबालि तथा मंत्रणा द्वारा सम्मानित (मन्त्रपूजिता:) सभी मंत्रीगण आगे-आगे चले।
English Commentary
The procession forms with the spiritual and administrative leadership at the vanguard. Sages like Vasistha, Vamadeva, and the steadfast Jabali (dṛḍhavrataḥ) lead the way, followed by the ministers. The ministers are described as mantrapūjitāḥ—honored for their wise counsel. This hierarchy reinforces the Vedic ideal that temporal power (Kshatra) must follow spiritual guidance (Brahma). Even in this unprecedented situation, the structural integrity of the state is maintained. They lead the way back to Ayodhya to restore order, carrying the mandate of the exiled King.
