अदूराच्चित्रकूटस्य ददर्श भरतस्तदा ।
आश्रमं यत्र स मुनिर्भरद्वाज: कृतालय: ॥ ॥२-११३-५॥
Adūrāccitrakūṭasya dadarśa bharatastadā । Āśramaṃ yatra sa munirbharadvājaḥ kṛtālayaḥ ॥ ॥2-113-5॥
Translation
Then, not far from Chitrakoot, Bharata saw the hermitage where the sage Bharadvaja had made his abode.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब चित्रकूट से थोड़ी ही दूर पर भरत ने वह आश्रम देखा जहाँ मुनि भरद्वाज निवास करते थे (अपना घर बनाए हुए थे)।
English Commentary
On the return leg, the procession spots the ashram of Sage Bharadvaja. This creates a narrative loop. Bharadvaja was the pivotal figure who directed Bharata to Rama. Now, passing by the same route, it is incumbent upon Bharata to visit the sage again. The phrase adūrāccitrakūṭasya (not far from Chitrakoot) gives geographical context. Stopping at the ashram is necessary not just for rest, but to close the loop of the quest—to inform the sage that the mission to bring Rama back has failed in its primary objective but succeeded in establishing a Dharmic compromise.

वापसी के मार्ग में भरत पुनः महर्षि भरद्वाज के आश्रम के पास पहुँचते हैं। याद रहे कि आते समय भरद्वाज ने ही भरत को चित्रकूट का मार्ग बताया था और राम से मिलवाया था। अब लौटते समय यह भरत का कर्तव्य है कि वे ऋषि को परिणाम की सूचना दें। 'कृतालय:' का अर्थ है जहाँ मुनि ने अपना निवास बनाया है। यह पड़ाव महत्वपूर्ण है क्योंकि भरद्वाज प्रयाग (त्रिवेणी संगम) के पास स्थित हैं, जो एक प्रमुख तीर्थ और ज्ञान का केंद्र है। भरत अपनी वापसी यात्रा में शिष्टाचार का पालन कर रहे हैं।
