ततो निक्षिप्य मातऽ: स अयोध्यायां दृढव्रत: ।
भरत: शोकसन्तप्तो गुरूनिदमथाब्रवीत् ॥२-११५-१॥
tato nikṣipya mātṛḥ sa ayodhyāyāṃ dṛḍhavrataḥ |
bharataḥ śokasantapto gurūnidamathābravīt ॥2-115-1॥
Translation
Thereafter, having settled the mothers in Ayodhya, the firm-vowed Bharata, though burning with grief, spoke these words to the preceptors.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तदनन्तर, माताओं को अयोध्या में स्थापित (छोड़कर) करके, शोक से संतप्त किन्तु अपने निश्चय पर अटल रहने वाले (दृढव्रत) भरत ने गुरुओं (वशिष्ठ आदि) से यह कहा।
English Commentary
This verse marks a transition from mourning to action. Bharata is described as "dridhavratah" (firm in vow), referring to his pledge to rule as a regent ascetic and await Rama's return. Despite being "shokasantapto" (tormented by grief), he prioritizes protocol by first settling the mothers safely in the capital. Addressing the "Gurus" (elders and preceptors like Vasistha) indicates his adherence to tradition—he seeks not just to inform them but to gain implied sanction for his unconventional decision to live apart from the capital.

यह श्लोक एक नए अध्याय और भरत के निर्णायक कदम का संकेत है। भरत को 'दृढव्रत:' कहा गया है, जो श्रीराम की चरणपादुकाओं की सेवा और १४ वर्ष तक तपस्वी जीवन जीने के उनके संकल्प को दर्शाता है। शोक से संतप्त होने के बावजूद उनका कर्तव्यबोध क्षीण नहीं हुआ है। उन्होंने पहले माताओं की सुरक्षा और आवास की व्यवस्था की, जो एक जिम्मेदार पुत्र और शासक का लक्षण है। इसके पश्चात ही उन्होंने गुरुजनों से अपनी आगामी योजना साझा की। यह भरत की परिपक्वता और धर्म के प्रति निष्ठा को रेखांकित करता है।
