अग्रतो गुरवस्तत्र वसिष्ठप्रमुखा द्विजा: ।
प्रययु: प्राङ्मुखा: सर्वे नन्दिग्रामो यतो ऽभवत् ॥२-११५-१०॥
agrato guravastatra vasiṣṭhapramukhā dvijāḥ |
prayayuḥ prāṅmukhāḥ sarve nandigrāmo yato 'bhavat ॥2-115-10॥
Translation
The Gurus led by Vasistha and other Brahmanas went ahead, facing East, towards where Nandigrama was located.

वशिष्ठ आदि प्रमुख गुरुजन और ब्राह्मण, पूर्व दिशा की ओर मुख करके, जहाँ नन्दिग्राम स्थित था, उस ओर उनके आगे-आगे चले।
English Commentary
The procession follows strict protocol with the spiritual authorities leading the way ("agrato guravah"). Vasistha's presence at the front signifies that this is a sanctioned, righteous move, not a rebellious abandonment of the city. Movement towards the East ("pranmukhah") is traditional and auspicious in Vedic culture, often associated with new beginnings and spiritual pursuits. This formation underscores that while Bharata is the temporal ruler (regent), he remains guided by spiritual wisdom represented by Vasistha.
