ततस्तु भरत: श्रीमानभिषिच्यार्य्यपादुके ।
तदधीनस्तदा राज्यं कारयामास सर्वदा ॥२-११५-२६॥
tatastu bharataḥ śrīmānabhiṣicyāryyapāduke |
tadadhīnastadā rājyaṃ kārayāmāsa sarvadā ॥2-115-26॥
Translation
Then, the glorious Bharata, having consecrated the noble sandals, administered the kingdom always remaining subordinate to them.

उन श्रीमान भरत ने आर्य (राम) की पादुकाओं का अभिषेक करके, सदा उनके अधीन (तदधीन) रहते हुए राज्य का संचालन किया।
English Commentary
The operative word here is "tadadhinah" (subordinate to them). Bharata willingly submits to the authority of the inanimate sandals, treating them as the living presence of his brother. He did not rule instead of Rama; he ruled under Rama (represented by the sandals). This verse reinforces the idea that the source of authority remained Rama. Bharata's role was strictly managerial ("karayamasa"), ensuring that the kingdom functioned according to the principles (Dharma) that Rama embodied.
