सुभृशं श्लाघनीयं च यदुक्तं भरत त्वया ।
वचनं भ्रातृवात्सल्यादनुरूपं तवैव तत् ॥२-११५-५॥
subhṛśaṃ ślāghanīyaṃ ca yaduktaṃ bharata tvayā |
vacanaṃ bhrātṛvātsalyādanurūpaṃ tavaiva tat ॥2-115-5॥
Translation
"O Bharata, the words you have spoken out of brotherly affection are exceedingly praiseworthy and are indeed worthy of you alone."

हे भरत! भ्रातृप्रेम के कारण तुमने जो वचन कहे हैं, वे अत्यंत प्रशंसनीय हैं और वे तुम्हारे ही अनुरूप हैं।
English Commentary
The council validates Bharata's proposal not just as acceptable, but as "shlaghaniyam" (highly praiseworthy). They affirm that such selflessness is consistent with his character ("worthy of you"). The commentary highlights the motivation: "bhratruvatsalyad" (out of affection for the brother). This distinguishes Bharata's renunciation from spiritual escapism; his asceticism is an act of devotion and service. By endorsing his plan, the elders formally absolve Bharata of any suspicion of complicity in his mother's schemes.

वशिष्ठ और मंत्रीगण भरत के निर्णय का अनुमोदन करते हैं। वे कहते हैं कि यह कथन 'तवैव अनुरूपं' (तुम्हारे ही योग्य) है। इसका अर्थ है कि दशरथ के पुत्र और इक्ष्वाकु वंश के उत्तराधिकारी से ऐसे ही उच्च आदर्शों की अपेक्षा की जाती है। 'भ्रातृवात्सल्याद' (भाई के प्रति स्नेह से) शब्द यह स्पष्ट करता है कि भरत का वैराग्य संसार से घृणा के कारण नहीं, बल्कि राम के प्रति अगाध प्रेम के कारण है। यह अनुमोदन भरत के अपराधबोध (कि उनकी माता के कारण राम वन गए) को कम करने और उनके चरित्र को कलंक से मुक्त करने में सहायक है।
