नित्यं ते बन्धुलुब्धस्य तिष्ठतो भ्रातृसौहृदे ।
आर्यमार्गं प्रपन्नस्य नानुमन्येत क: पुमान् ॥२-११५-६॥
nityaṃ te bandhulubdhasya tiṣṭhato bhrātṛsauhṛde |
āryamārgaṃ prapannasya nānumanyeta kaḥ pumān ॥2-115-6॥
Translation
"Who would not approve of you, who are ever covetous of your kinsmen (loving them deeply), established in brotherly friendship, and following the path of the noble?"

सदा अपने बन्धुओं से प्रेम करने वाले (बन्धुलुब्ध), भाई के प्रति सौहार्द में स्थित और आर्यों (श्रेष्ठ पुरुषों) के मार्ग पर चलने वाले तुम्हारा अनुमोदन कौन पुरुष नहीं करेगा?
English Commentary
The ministers use a rhetorical question to express unanimous support. The term "bandhulubdhasya" is poetic; literally "greedy for kinsmen," it ironically reclaims "greed" to mean an intense longing for family unity and welfare. Bharata is described as walking the "Aryamargam" (the path of the noble/righteous). This confirms that his rejection of the throne is the ultimate definition of civilized (Aryan) behavior in the Valmiki Ramayana context. It reinforces that true nobility lies in sacrifice, not in acquisition of power.

यहाँ 'बन्धुलुब्धस्य' शब्द का प्रयोग बहुत सुंदर है। सामान्यतः 'लोभ' (लुब्ध) एक अवगुण है, परन्तु यहाँ इसका अर्थ 'भाई-बन्धुओं के प्रेम का लोभी' है, जो एक महान गुण है। भरत 'आर्यमार्ग' (श्रेष्ठ पुरुषों का मार्ग) पर चल रहे हैं। मंत्रियों का यह प्रश्न अलंकारिक है—अर्थात, संसार का प्रत्येक विवेकी मनुष्य भरत के इस त्याग का समर्थन करेगा। यह श्लोक भरत को मर्यादा पुरुषोत्तम राम के समकक्ष ही नैतिक ऊँचाई प्रदान करता है, क्योंकि वे सत्ता को ठुकराकर संबंधों को प्राथमिकता दे रहे हैं।
