Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
त्वं यदाप्रभृति ह्यस्मिन्नाश्रमे तात वर्तसे ।
तदाप्रभृति रक्षांसि विप्रकुर्वन्ति तापसान् ॥ ॥२-११६-१३॥
Tvaṃ yadāprabhṛti hyasminnāśrame tāta vartase । Tadāprabhṛti rakṣāṃsi viprakurvanti tāpasān ॥ ॥2-116-13॥
Translation
Indeed, dear one, from the time you have been residing in this hermitage, since then the Rakshasas have been harassing the ascetics.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे तात! जब से तुम इस आश्रम में निवास कर रहे हो, तभी से वे राक्षस तपस्वियों को (अत्यधिक) सता रहे हैं।
English Commentary
This verse establishes the temporal correlation between Rama's arrival and the escalation of Rakshasa violence. The construction yadāprabhṛti... tadāprabhṛti (since the time... from that time) leaves no doubt about the trigger. The word viprakurvanti (harassing/acting hostilely) suggests a change in the status quo. While the Rakshasas were always enemies, Rama's presence has catalyzed their aggression. The sage presents this fact objectively to explain why the community of ascetics feels they must now migrate.

यह श्लोक श्लोक १० की पुष्टि करता है। ऋषि 'यदाप्रभृति... तदाप्रभृति' (जब से... तब से) का प्रयोग करके कालक्रम (chronology) स्थापित करते हैं। यह राम को दोषी ठहराना नहीं है, बल्कि कार्य-कारण संबंध (cause and effect) समझाना है। राम धर्म के प्रतीक हैं, और धर्म की स्थापना होते ही अधर्म का छटपटाना स्वाभाविक है। राक्षसों की गतिविधियाँ राम के आगमन के बाद से प्रतिक्रियावादी (reactionary) हो गई हैं, जिसका परिणाम निरीह ऋषियों को भुगतना पड़ रहा है।
