Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
राघवस्त्वथ यातेषु तपस्विषु विचिन्तयन् ।
न तत्रारोचयद्वासं कारणैर्बहुभिस्तदा ॥ ॥२-११७-१॥
Rāghavastvatha yāteṣu tapasviṣu vicintayan । Na tatrārocayadvāsaṃ kāraṇairbahubhistadā ॥ ॥2-117-1॥
Translation
Thereafter, when the ascetics had departed, Raghava reflected upon the situation and, for many reasons, did not find it agreeable to dwell there any longer.

तदनन्तर, उन तपस्वियों के चले जाने पर, राघव ने विचार किया और तब कई कारणों से उन्हें वहाँ (चित्रकूट में) निवास करना अच्छा नहीं लगा।
English Commentary
A shift in strategy occurs here. Once the dust settles after the sages' departure, Rama engages in vicintayan (deep reflection). The text explicitly states he decides to leave not out of fear (unlike the sages), but because he no longer found pleasure (arocayat) in living there. The phrase kāraṇair bahubhiḥ (for many reasons) indicates a rational, multi-faceted decision-making process, which the subsequent verses will elucidate. The solitude of the place likely weighed heavily on him.

पिछले सर्ग में राम ने रुकने का साहस दिखाया था, किन्तु अब वे शांति से 'विचिन्तयन्' (चिंतन करते हुए) व्यावहारिक निर्णय ले रहे हैं। 'न अरोचयत्' (रुचिकर नहीं लगा/पसंद नहीं आया) का प्रयोग बताता है कि यह निर्णय भय के कारण नहीं, बल्कि अरुचि के कारण लिया गया। 'कारणैर्बहुभि:' (बहुत से कारणों से) वाक्यांश अगले श्लोकों की भूमिका बाँधता है। चित्रकूट अब वह सुरम्य स्थान नहीं रहा जहाँ वे पहले आए थे; ऋषियों के बिना वह श्रीहीन हो गया था।
