तस्मादन्यत्र गच्छाम इति सञ्चिन्त्य राघव: ।
प्रातिष्ठत स वैदेह्या लक्ष्मणेन च सङ्गत: ॥ ॥२-११७-४॥
Tasmādanyatra gacchāma iti sañcintya rāghavaḥ । Prātiṣṭhata sa vaidehyā lakṣmaṇena ca saṅgataḥ ॥ ॥2-117-4॥
Translation
"Therefore, let us go elsewhere"—thinking thus, Raghava set out, accompanied by Vaidehi (Sita) and Lakshmana.

"इसलिए हम कहीं और चलते हैं"—ऐसा विचार करके राघव, सीता और लक्ष्मण के साथ वहाँ से प्रस्थान कर गए।
English Commentary
The resolution is decisive. Having weighed the psychological burden and the physical degradation of Chitrakoot, Rama concludes, "Let us go elsewhere." The verb prātiṣṭhata (set out/departed) marks the end of the Chitrakoot phase of their exile. Accompanied by his constant companions, Vaidehi and Lakshmana, Rama resumes his itinerant lifestyle. This marks the transition from a settled ascetic life back to the journey that will lead them deeper into the Dandaka forest.

राम का निर्णय लेने का तरीका त्वरित और स्पष्ट है। भावनात्मक और भौतिक दोनों कारणों की समीक्षा के बाद, निष्कर्ष निकलता है—'तस्मादन्यत्र गच्छाम' (इसलिए कहीं और चलते हैं)। 'प्रातिष्ठत' (प्रस्थान किया) क्रिया उनकी गतिशीलता को दर्शाती है। वे अतीत में नहीं जीते, वर्तमान का सामना करते हैं। सीता (वैदेही) और लक्ष्मण के साथ वे पुनः एक नई यात्रा के लिए निकल पड़े। यह श्लोक चित्रकूट प्रसंग का समापन और दंडकारण्य प्रवेश का आरंभ है।
