यद्यप्येष भवेद्भर्ता ममार्ये वृत्तवर्जित: ।
अद्वैधमुपचर्तव्यस्तथाप्येष मया भवेत् ॥ ॥२-११८-३॥
Yadyapyeṣa bhavedbhartā mamārye vṛttavarjitaḥ । Advaidhamupacartavyastathāpyeṣa mayā bhavet ॥ ॥2-118-3॥
Translation
"O Noble Lady! Even if this husband of mine were devoid of good conduct, he would still be worthy of my service without hesitation or duality."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"हे आर्ये! यद्यपि मेरे पति सदाचार से रहित (वृत्तवर्जित) भी होते, तब भी मेरे द्वारा उनकी सेवा बिना किसी भेदभाव या द्विधा (अद्वैधम्) के की जाती।"
English Commentary
Sita validates Anasuya’s teaching by stating a hypothetical scenario. She asserts that her devotion is absolute and not conditional upon her husband's behavior. The term Advaidham implies a service rendered with a singular focus, without hesitation or "duality" of mind (i.e., not thinking "should I or shouldn't I"). Sita establishes that she understands the core of Pativrata Dharma—that the husband is worshipped for the sake of the vow itself. This sets the stage for her to contrast this hypothetical scenario with the glorious reality of Rama’s character in the next verse.

सीता जी यहाँ अनसूया के उपदेश का समर्थन करती हैं और पातिव्रत्य की पराकाष्ठा को परिभाषित करती हैं। वे कहती हैं कि पति की सेवा उसके गुणों पर निर्भर नहीं होनी चाहिए। 'अद्वैधम्' शब्द का अर्थ है 'बिना किसी दूसरे विचार के' या 'एकमना होकर'। सीता यह hypothetical (काल्पनिक) स्थिति रख रही हैं कि यदि राम में दोष होते, तो भी मेरा धर्म नहीं बदलता। यह कथन उनके प्रेम की निस्वार्थता और कर्तव्यनिष्ठा को सिद्ध करता है। वे पहले सिद्धांत (principle) को स्वीकार करती हैं, फिर अगले श्लोक में राम के वास्तविक गुणों का वर्णन करती हैं।
