तेन पूरयता वेगान्मध्ये भग्नं द्विधा धनु: ।
तस्य शब्दो ऽभवद्भीम: पतितस्याशनेरिव ॥२-११८-४९॥
tena pūrayatā vegānmadhye bhagnaṃ dvidhā dhanuḥ । tasya śabdo 'bhavadbhīmaḥ patitasyāśaneriva ॥2-118-49॥
Translation
As he drew it with force, the bow broke into two pieces in the middle. The sound it produced was terrifying, like the crashing of a thunderbolt.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उनके द्वारा वेगपूर्वक खींचे जाने पर वह धनुष बीच से टूटकर दो टुकड़े हो गया। उसके टूटने का शब्द (ध्वनि) वज्रपात के समान अत्यंत भयंकर था।
English Commentary
The climax of the Dhanur-bhanga (breaking of the bow). The structural integrity of the divine bow could not withstand Rama's power, snapping in the middle (Madhye bhagnam). The auditory impact is described as Bhima (terrifying) and compared to a thunderbolt strike (Ashaneriva). This sound signified the end of Janaka's anxiety and the beginning of the divine union. It is a moment of raw power and destiny fulfilled.

यह रामायण का एक निर्णायक क्षण है। राम का बल धनुष की सहनशक्ति से अधिक था। 'मध्ये भग्नं द्विधा' (बीच से दो टुकड़े हो गया) यह दृश्य अत्यंत प्रभावशाली है। ध्वनि की तुलना 'अशनेरिव' (वज्र के गिरने जैसी) से की गई है, जो उस घटना की भव्यता और भय को दर्शाती है। यह शिव-धनुष का भंग होना केवल एक भौतिक घटना नहीं, बल्कि सीता के विवाह और रावण के विनाश की पूर्वसूचना थी।
