यां वृत्तिं वर्त्तते राम: कौसल्यायां महाबल: ।
तामेव नृपनारीणामन्यासामपि वर्त्तते ॥ ॥२-११८-५॥
Yāṃ vṛttiṃ varttate rāmaḥ kausalyāyāṃ mahābalaḥ । Tāmeva nṛpanārīṇāmanyāsāmapi varttate ॥ ॥2-118-5॥
Translation
"The mighty Rama behaves towards the other wives of the King exactly as he behaves towards (his own mother) Kausalya."

"महाबली श्रीराम जैसा व्यवहार अपनी माता कौशल्या के प्रति रखते हैं, वैसा ही व्यवहार वे महाराज दशरथ की अन्य रानियों के प्रति भी रखते हैं।"
English Commentary
Sita highlights Rama's equitable treatment of his mothers. Despite the internal politics of the harem (which led to his exile), Rama treats all the Nrpanarinam (king's wives) with the same reverence he accords to Kausalya. This lack of distinction is a testament to his character. By using the epithet Mahabalah (mighty/strong), Sita implies that true strength lies not just in physical prowess but in the emotional maturity to maintain respect and equanimity toward all elders, regardless of their actions or biological relationship.

सीता यहाँ राम के पारिवारिक आचरण की प्रशंसा कर रही हैं। राम का 'एकपत्नी व्रत' जितना प्रसिद्ध है, उतना ही उनका 'मातृ-भक्ति' का समभाव भी महत्वपूर्ण है। सौतेली माताओं (विशेषकर कैकेयी, जिनके कारण वनवास हुआ) के प्रति मन में द्वेष न रखना राम की महानता है। सीता अनसूया को बता रही हैं कि राम केवल एक अच्छे पति ही नहीं, बल्कि एक आदर्श पुत्र भी हैं। 'महाबल:' विशेषण यहाँ राम के मानसिक बल को दर्शाता है, क्योंकि भेदभाव न करने के लिए महान आत्मबल की आवश्यकता होती है।
