नवीकृतं च तत्सर्वं वाक्यैस्ते धर्मचारिणि ।
पतिशुश्रूषणान्नार्य्यास्तपो नान्यद्विधीयते ॥ ॥२-११८-९॥
Navīkṛtaṃ ca tatsarvaṃ vāKyaiste dharmacāriṇī । Patiśuśrūṣaṇānnāryyāstapo nānyadvidhīyate ॥ ॥2-118-9॥
Translation
"O righteous lady! All that has been renewed by your words. For a woman, no penance other than the service of her husband is prescribed."

"हे धर्मचारिणी! आपके वचनों से वह सब (ज्ञान) नवीकृत (पुनः ताज़ा) हो गया है। नारी के लिए पति की सेवा (शुश्रूषा) के अतिरिक्त अन्य कोई तप नहीं बताया गया है।"
English Commentary
Displaying exquisite humility, Sita acknowledges that Anasuya’s words have "renewed" (Navikritam) her memory of these duties. She agrees with the core theological point: for a woman, Pati-shushrusha (service to the husband) is the equivalent of ascetic penance (Tapas). Sita affirms that she need not perform separate austerities in the forest, as serving Rama in his exile is, in itself, the highest spiritual discipline prescribed for her. This harmonizes Anasuya’s advice with Sita’s own convictions.

यद्यपि सीता को सब ज्ञात है, फिर भी वे विनम्रतापूर्वक कहती हैं कि अनसूया की बातों ने उस ज्ञान को 'नवीकृत' (renew) कर दिया है। यह बड़ों का मान रखने का तरीका है। सीता निष्कर्ष निकालती हैं कि स्त्रियों के लिए अलग से वन में जाकर कठोर तपस्या, यज्ञ या योग की आवश्यकता नहीं है; 'पतिशुश्रूषा' (पति की सेवा) ही उनका सबसे बड़ा 'तप' है। यह भारतीय संस्कृति का एक प्रमुख सिद्धांत है कि कर्मयोग (अपने कर्तव्य का पालन) ही मोक्ष का साधन है।
