अलङ्कुरु च तावत्त्वं प्रत्यक्षं मम मैथिलि ।
प्रीतिं जनय मे वत्से दिव्यालङ्कारशोभिता ॥२-११९-१०॥
Alaṅkuru ca tāvattvaṃ pratyakṣaṃ mama maithili । Prītiṃ janaya me vatse divyālaṅkāraśobhitā ॥ ॥2-119-10॥
Translation
O Maithili, adorn yourself right here in my presence. O child (Vatse), generate joy in me by appearing beautiful, bedecked in these divine ornaments.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे मैथिली! तुम मेरे सामने ही इन आभूषणों को धारण करो। हे वत्से! दिव्य आभूषणों से सुशोभित होकर तुम मेरे मन में प्रसन्नता उत्पन्न करो।
English Commentary
This request from Anasuya highlights her maternal affection (Vatsalya). Typically, ascetics act detached from physical adornments, but Anasuya addresses Sita as "Vatse" (child/daughter) and expresses a desire to see her adorned. This is not born of worldly attachment but of a pure, motherly wish to see Sita glorious and protected. By asking Sita to wear the divine ornaments in her presence, Anasuya wants to witness the fruition of her blessing. It underscores that these ornaments serve a spiritual and protective purpose rather than mere vanity, ensuring Sita retains her radiance throughout the hardships of the forest exile.

माता अनसूया का यह आग्रह उनके वात्सल्य भाव को दर्शाता है। प्रायः तपस्वी आभूषणों और भौतिक सौंदर्य से विरक्त होते हैं, परंतु यहाँ अनसूया सीता को 'वत्से' (बेटी) कहकर संबोधित करती हैं और उन्हें अलंकृत देखने की इच्छा प्रकट करती हैं। यह इच्छा सांसारिक मोह नहीं, बल्कि एक माँ की अपनी पुत्री को सुखी और सुंदर देखने की सात्विक अभिलाषा है। अनसूया चाहती हैं कि सीता उन दिव्य उपहारों को स्वीकार करें और धारण करें जो वन के कठिन जीवन में भी उनकी कांति को म्लान नहीं होने देंगे। यह सीता के प्रति अनसूया के अगाध प्रेम का प्रमाण है।
