Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
सा तथा समलंकृत्य सीता सुरसुतोपमा ।
प्रणम्य शिरसा तस्यै रामं त्वभिमुखी ययौ ॥२-११९-११॥
Sā tathā samalaṃkṛtya sītā surasutopamā । Praṇamya śirasā tasyai rāmaṃ tvabhimukhī yayau ॥ ॥2-119-11॥
Translation
Sita, resembling a daughter of the gods, adorned herself accordingly. Then, bowing her head to Anasuya, she proceeded towards Rama.
हिंदी अनुवाद
देवकन्या के समान सुंदरी सीता ने (अनसूया के कथनानुसार) स्वयं को अलंकृत किया। फिर उन्होंने सिर झुकाकर अनसूया को प्रणाम किया और श्री राम की ओर प्रस्थान किया।
English Commentary
Sita is described here as "surasutopamā" (resembling a daughter of the gods), indicating that the divine ornaments enhanced her natural beauty to a celestial level. However, the verse emphasizes her humility alongside her beauty. Despite receiving such rare and priceless gifts, she does not forget her etiquette; she bows her head in reverence to Anasuya before leaving. This act signifies gratitude and ingrained culture (Sanskara). The transition is symbolic: having received the spiritual strength and protective blessings of the feminine ascetic power, she now returns to her husband, ready to face the destiny that awaits them.

इस श्लोक में सीता की तुलना 'सुरसुतोपमा' (देवताओं की पुत्री के समान) से की गई है। दिव्य वस्त्र और आभूषण धारण करने के बाद सीता का सौंदर्य अलौकिक हो गया था। महत्वपूर्ण बात यह है कि इतना सम्मान और दिव्य उपहार प्राप्त करने के बाद भी सीता का विनय नहीं डगमगाया। उन्होंने जाने से पहले विधिपूर्वक सिर झुकाकर अनसूया को प्रणाम किया। यह भारतीय संस्कृति में बड़ों के प्रति कृतज्ञता और विनय का प्रतीक है। सुंदरता और शील का ऐसा अद्भुत संयोग सीता के चरित्र की महानता को दर्शाता है। अब वह ऋषियों के आशीर्वाद से परिपूर्ण होकर अपने पति के पास लौट रही हैं।
