तावूचुस्ते वनचरास्तापसा धर्मचारिण: ।
वनस्य तस्य सञ्चारं राक्षसै: समभिप्लुतम् ॥२-११९-१७॥
Tāvūcuste vanacarāstāpasā dharmacāriṇaḥ । Vanasya tasya sañcāraṃ rākṣasaiḥ samabhiplutam ॥ ॥2-119-17॥
Translation
Those forest-dwelling ascetics, who practiced righteousness, spoke to them about the movement in that forest, which was overrun by Rakshasas (demons).

धर्म का आचरण करने वाले उन वनवासी तपस्वियों ने उन दोनों से उस वन के मार्ग के विषय में कहा, जो राक्षसों से भरा हुआ था।
English Commentary
The narrative tone shifts from the serenity of the ashram to the dangers of the wild. The ascetics, described as "dharmacāriṇaḥ" (practitioners of dharma), warn Rama about the path ahead. They inform him that the forest is "samabhiplutam" (inundated/overrun) with Rakshasas. This is a critical plot point; it sets the stage for the conflicts in the Dandaka forest. The ascetics are not merely giving directions but providing a strategic briefing on the threats that infest the region, preparing the warriors for the battles to come.
