क्षुरोपमाम् नित्यमसत्प्रियंवदाम् ।
प्रदुष्टभावाम् स्वकुलोपघातिनीम् ।
न जीवितुम् त्वाम् विषहेऽमनोरमाम् ।
दिधक्षमाणाम् हृदयम् सबन्धनम् ॥२-१२-११२॥
Kṣuropamām nityamasatpriyaṃvadām |
Praduṣṭabhāvām svakulopaghātinīm |
Na jīvitum tvām viṣahe'manoramām |
Didhakṣamāṇām hṛdayam sabandhanam ॥2-12-112॥
Translation
You are sharp like a razor, always speaking pleasant lies, of wicked nature, and the destroyer of your own family. I cannot bear to live with you, who are no longer charming to me, burning my heart along with its vital connections.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस्तरे की धार के समान तीखी, सदा झूठ को ही प्रिय बोलने वाली, दुष्ट स्वभाव वाली और अपने ही कुल का नाश करने वाली! तू मेरे मन को अब बिल्कुल नहीं भाती। मेरे हृदय को मर्मस्थानों (जोड़ों) सहित जलाने वाली तेरे साथ मैं जीवित नहीं रह सकता।
English Commentary
The King uses the metaphor of a "kṣura" (razor) to describe Kaikeyi—smooth and shiny on the outside but deadly sharp. He calls her "asatpriyaṃvadām," meaning she used her charm and sweet words as a facade for lies. He declares her "amanoramām" (unpleasant/devoid of charm), signifying the total death of his love for her. He feels physically incinerated by her presence. Dasharatha states he can no longer endure living with the woman who is actively destroying her own family ("svakulopaghātinīm").

दशरथ कैकेयी के साथ अपना संबंध विच्छेद कर रहे हैं। वे उसे 'क्षुरोपमाम्' (उस्तरे जैसी) कहते हैं—जो ऊपर से चिकना होता है पर छूने पर काट देता है। 'असत्प्रियंवदाम्' का अर्थ है जो मीठा तो बोलती है पर वह सब झूठ और छल है। राजा कहते हैं कि अब कैकेयी 'अमनोरमा' (मन को न भाने वाली) हो गई है। जिस पत्नी के बिना वे जी नहीं सकते थे, अब उसके साथ एक पल रहना उन्हें असंभव लग रहा है क्योंकि वह उनके हृदय को 'सबन्धनम्' (स्नायुओं और बंधनों सहित) जला रही है।
