विरमैतेन भावेन त्वमेतेनानृतेन वा ॥२-१२-५९॥
viramaitena bhāvena tvametena ānṛtena vā ॥ ॥2-12-59॥
Translation
Desist from this attitude/intent, or from this false course.
हिंदी अनुवाद
"अपने इस दुष्ट भाव (ज़िद) को छोड़ दो, या इस अन्यायपूर्ण/झूठे मार्ग से हट जाओ।" (यहाँ श्लोक का अंश मात्र है, संदर्भानुसार राजा उसे रुकने के लिए कह रहे हैं)।
English Commentary
This is a desperate imperative: virama (stop/desist). Dasharatha begs her to abandon this bhāva (disposition/intent). He characterizes her current path as anṛta—false, unrighteous, or evil. It is a plea for her to return to morality and truth. Even after the shock and the fainting, the King clings to a shred of hope that he can command or persuade her to stop before the catastrophe is finalized. It is the final plea of the husband before he fully succumbs to the reality of the situation.

यह एक संक्षिप्त और हताश आदेश/निवेदन है। 'विरम' का अर्थ है 'रुको' या 'बंद करो'। राजा उसे अंतिम चेतावनी या विनती कर रहे हैं कि इस 'भावेन' (विचार/इरादे) को त्याग दो। वे इसे 'अनृतेन' (असत्य/अधर्म) कहते हैं। राजा अभी भी उम्मीद कर रहे हैं कि शायद कैकेयी मान जाए। यह डूबते हुए व्यक्ति का तिनके को पकड़ने जैसा प्रयास है। वे उसे यह समझाने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं कि जो वह कर रही है वह नैतिक रूप से गलत (अनृत) है और उसे अभी भी इसे सुधार लेना चाहिए।
