तां हि मे सुकृतां बुद्धिं सुहृद्भिः सह निश्चिताम् ।
कथम् द्रक्ष्याम्यपावृत्ताम् परैरिव हताम् चमूम् ॥२-१२-६४॥
tāṃ hi me sukṛtāṃ buddhiṃ suhṛdbhiḥ saha niścitām । katham drakṣyāmyapāvṛttām parairiva hatām camūm ॥ ॥2-12-64॥
Translation
How shall I see my well-planned resolve, decided upon with my friends (counselors), turned back (nullified) like an army destroyed by enemies?

मित्रों और मंत्रियों के साथ मिलकर मैंने जो सुविचारित निर्णय (राम के राज्याभिषेक का) लिया था, उसे शत्रुओं द्वारा नष्ट की गई सेना की भांति लौटाया जाता हुआ (विफल होता हुआ) मैं कैसे देखूंगा?
English Commentary
Dasharatha shifts from personal grief to political humiliation. He compares the cancellation of the coronation to a routed army (hatām camūm). The plan was not just a whim but a "well-crafted resolve" made with counselors. To revoke it now is a public admission of defeat. He feels the shame of a commander watching his strategy crumble, not due to an external enemy, but due to internal sabotage. It highlights the loss of his authority and the public embarrassment he will face before his court and subjects.

राजा दशरथ अपनी योजना की विफलता की तुलना 'हताम् चमूम्' (हारी हुई सेना) से करते हैं। उन्होंने राम के अभिषेक की योजना बहुत सोच-समझकर ('सुकृताम् बुद्धिम्') और सबके परामर्श से बनाई थी। अब उस निर्णय को वापस लेना ऐसा ही है जैसे युद्ध के मैदान में अपनी ही सेना को कटा हुआ देखना। यह केवल व्यक्तिगत दुःख नहीं, बल्कि एक राजा की सार्वजनिक हार है। उनकी संप्रभुता और निर्णय क्षमता को उनके ही घर के भीतर परास्त कर दिया गया है, जो उनके लिए घोर अपमान का विषय है।
