कैकेयीमब्रवीत्क्रुद्धः प्रदहन्निव चक्षुषा ।
नृशम्से दुष्टचारित्रे कुलस्यास्य विनाशिनि ॥ ॥२-१२-७॥
kaikeyīmabravītkruddhaḥ pradahanniva cakṣuṣā । nṛśamse duṣṭacāritre kulasyaāsa vināśini ॥ ॥2-12-7॥
Translation
Then, angry and appearing to burn her with his eyes, he spoke to Kaikeyi: "O cruel one! O woman of wicked conduct! O destroyer of this lineage!"
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब राजा ने क्रोधित होकर अपनी (लाल) आँखों से कैकेयी को मानो जलाते हुए कहा—"हे नृशंस (क्रूर)! हे दुष्ट चरित्र वाली! हे इस कुल का विनाश करने वाली!"
English Commentary
Dasharatha's grief turns to rage. He looks at her as if to incinerate her ('pradahanniva') with his gaze. He abandons all honorifics and attacks her character directly: 'Nrishamse' (cruel/malicious), 'Dushtacharitre' (wicked-natured), and 'Kulavinashini' (destroyer of the family). He identifies her now not as his beloved, but as an internal enemy bent on ruining the Raghu dynasty.

दशरथ का धैर्य टूट जाता है। अब वे याचना नहीं, क्रोध कर रहे हैं। 'प्रदहन्निव चक्षुषा' (आँखों से जलाते हुए) उनका रौद्र रूप दिखाता है। वे कैकेयी के लिए अत्यंत कठोर विशेषणों का प्रयोग करते हैं: 'नृशम्से' (दयाहीन), 'दुष्टचारित्रे' (बुरे चरित्र वाली), और 'कुलविनाशिनि' (वंश को डुबोने वाली)। यह पति-पत्नी के संवाद का अंत और राजा-अपराधी के संवाद का आरंभ है।
