Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
प्रक्षिप्य नरके सा त्वम् कैकेयि सुखिता भव ।
मया रामेण च त्यक्तम् शाश्वतम् सत्कृतम् गुणैः ॥२-१२-९२॥
Prakṣipya narake sā tvam kaikeyi sukhitā bhava । Mayā rāmeṇa ca tyaktam śāśvatam satkṛtam guṇaiḥ ॥2-12-92॥
Translation
Having thrown us into hell, O Kaikeyi, be happy now. This lineage, eternally honored for its virtues, is now abandoned by me and Rama.

हे कैकेयी! (हम सबको) नरक (समान दुःख) में डालकर तू सुखी हो जा। यह वंश जो सदा गुणों द्वारा सत्कृत (सम्मानित) था, अब मेरे और राम द्वारा त्याग दिया गया है।
English Commentary
Dasharatha uses bitter sarcasm, telling Kaikeyi to 'be happy' (sukhita bhava) after casting the family into 'hell' (narake). The 'hell' here represents the profound misery and chaos created by her demands. He laments that the glorious lineage, which was shashvatam (eternal) and honored for its virtues, has now been abandoned by its key protectors—himself (through death) and Rama (through exile). He implies that she has successfully hollowed out the kingdom, leaving her to rule over nothing but ruins and disgrace.

यहाँ 'नरक' का अर्थ केवल मृत्यु के बाद का स्थान नहीं, बल्कि वह असहनीय क्लेश है जो इक्ष्वाकु कुल पर आने वाला है। दशरथ व्यंग्य (sarcasm) में कहते हैं, "सुखिता भव" (खुश रहो)। यह एक शाप जैसा है। वे कहते हैं कि यह वंश जो हमेशा गुणों के लिए जाना जाता था, अब बिखर गया है क्योंकि राम (भविष्य) और दशरथ (वर्तमान) दोनों इसे छोड़ रहे हैं। दशरथ का कहना है कि कैकेयी को एक "खाली" और "अभिशप्त" राज्य मिलेगा, जिसमें न राजा है, न युवराज, केवल दुःख का अंधकार है।
