ततः स राजा पुनरेव मूर्च्छितः प्रियामतुष्टां प्रतिकूलभाषिणीम् ।
समीक्ष्य पुत्रस्य विवासनं प्रति क्षितौ विसंज्ञो निपपात दुःखितः ॥ ॥२-१३-२५॥
Tataḥ sa rājā punareva mūrcchitaḥ priyāmatuṣṭāṃ pratikūlabhāṣiṇīm । Samīkṣya putrasya vivāsanaṃ prati kṣitau visaṃjño nipapāta duḥkhitaḥ ॥ ॥2-13-25॥
Translation
Then, seeing his beloved wife still dissatisfied and speaking adversely regarding the exile of his son, the King fainted once again. Overcome with grief, he fell unconscious to the ground.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब वह राजा, अपनी प्रिय (पत्नी) को असंतुष्ट और पुत्र के वनवास के प्रति प्रतिकूल बोलती हुई देखकर, पुनः मूर्छित हो गया और दुःख के कारण चेतना खोकर पृथ्वी पर गिर पड़ा।
English Commentary
This verse marks the physical collapse of the King. Realizing that his 'beloved' (priyām) remained atuṣṭāṃ (dissatisfied) and committed to the adverse course of exiling Rama, Dasharatha's system shuts down. The juxtaposition of affection and betrayal is too much to bear. He does not just sit down; he falls (nipapāta) unconscious (visaṃjño) to the floor. It symbolizes the fall of the crown and the kingdom's stability, brought down not by war, but by domestic discord and rigid vows.

जब अनुनय, विनय, चाटुकारिता और तर्क सब विफल हो गए, तो राजा का शरीर और मस्तिष्क जवाब दे गया। 'पुत्रस्य विवासनं प्रति' (पुत्र के वनवास के लिए) कैकेयी की दृढ़ता को देखकर राजा को गहरा आघात लगा। यहाँ 'प्रियाम्' शब्द का प्रयोग राजा के अंतर्द्वंद्व को दिखाता है—वह स्त्री जो उन्हें प्रिय थी, आज उनके प्राणों की शत्रु बन गई है। पृथ्वी पर गिरना (निपपात) राजा के पूर्ण पराजय और असहायता का प्रतीक है।
