प्रयाता रजनी देवि सूर्यस्योदयनं प्रति ।
अभिषेकं गुरुजनस्त्वरयिष्यति मां ध्रुवम् ॥ ॥२-१४-१५॥
Prayātā rajanī devi sūryasyodayanaṃ prati । Abhiṣekaṃ gurujanastvarayiṣyati māṃ dhruvam ॥ ॥2-14-15॥
Translation
The night has passed, O Devi, and the sun is about to rise. The elders (Gurus) will certainly hurry me up for the coronation ceremony.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे देवि (व्यंग्य)! रात बीत चुकी है और सूर्योदय होने वाला है। गुरुजन (वशिष्ठ आदि) निश्चित ही राज्याभिषेक के लिए मुझे शीघ्रता करने को कहेंगे।
English Commentary
Dawn breaks, bringing the inevitable confrontation with reality. Dasharatha notes that the night is gone (prayātā rajanī) and the sun is rising. The external world is waking up for a celebration that has already been cancelled behind closed doors. He anticipates the pressure from the Gurus to hurry (tvarayiṣyati) for the coronation. This creates supreme dramatic irony and tension: the King knows the catastrophe that is about to unfold, while the priests and the city are preparing for a festival. The deadline has arrived.

रात भर के विवाद के बाद अब भोर हो गई है। 'प्रयाता रजनी' (रात बीत गई) केवल समय का संकेत नहीं है, बल्कि राजा के जीवन के सुखद अध्याय की समाप्ति भी है। दशरथ वास्तविकता के धरातल पर लौटते हैं—बाहर पूरी अयोध्या राम के राज्याभिषेक की तैयारी कर रही है। 'गुरुजनस्त्वरयिष्यति'—गुरु वशिष्ठ जल्दबाजी करेंगे क्योंकि मुहूर्त निकल रहा है। दशरथ की पीड़ा यह है कि उन्हें उस उत्सव को रोकना है जिसका पूरा नगर इंतजार कर रहा है। 'देवि' संबोधन यहाँ कड़वाहट से भरा है।
