पुण्ये नक्षत्रयोगे च रामो राज्यमवाप्नुयात् ।
इति तस्य वचः श्रुत्वा सूतपुत्रो महात्मनः ॥ ॥२-१४-४३॥
Puṇye nakṣatrayoge ca rāmo rājyamavāpnuyāt । Iti tasya vacaḥ śrutvā sūtaputro mahātmanaḥ ॥ ॥2-14-43॥
Translation
"(So that) Rama may obtain the kingdom under the auspicious star conjunction. Having heard these words of the great-souled one (Vashistha), the son of the Suta..."

"(ताकि) पवित्र पुष्य नक्षत्र के योग में राम राज्य (राजपद) प्राप्त कर सकें। उस महात्मा (वशिष्ट) के ये वचन सुनकर सूतपुत्र (सुमन्त्र)..."
English Commentary
This verse specifies the astrological imperative: the Puṇye Nakṣatrayoge (auspicious star conjunction), specifically the Pushya Nakshatra mentioned in earlier chapters. The goal is singular: that Rama secures the kingdom within this holy window. Vashistha is referred to as Mahātmanaḥ (Great Soul), emphasizing that his rush is not out of impatience but out of divine foresight and duty. Sumantra receives this command with absolute seriousness. This moment marks the transition from the joyous preparations outside to the tragic reality waiting inside the King's chambers, though Sumantra is currently unaware of the latter.

यहाँ स्पष्ट किया गया है कि सारी शीघ्रता 'पुष्य नक्षत्र' के कारण है, जिसे राज्याभिषेक के लिए अत्यंत शुभ माना गया था। 'रामो राज्यमवाप्नुयात्' (राम राज्य प्राप्त करें) यही एकमात्र लक्ष्य है। महर्षि वशिष्ठ को यहाँ 'महात्मनः' कहा गया है, जो उनके आध्यात्मिक प्रभाव और निस्वार्थ भाव को दर्शाता है। सुमन्त्र के लिए गुरु की आज्ञा, राजा की आज्ञा के समान या उससे भी ऊपर थी। यह श्लोक वशिष्ठ के निर्देश और सुमन्त्र की क्रिया के बीच की कड़ी है। सुमन्त्र, जो अभी तक वशिष्ठ के साथ बाहरी कक्ष में थे, अब राजा को जगाने के लिए भीतर प्रस्थान करेंगे।
