बोधयत्यद्य पृथिवीं तथा त्वां बोधयाम्यहम् ।
उत्तिष्ठाशु महाराज कृतकौतुकमङ्गलः ॥ ॥२-१४-५१॥
Bodhayatyadya pṛthivīṃ tathā tvāṃ bodhayāmyaham । Uttiṣṭhāśu mahārāja kṛtakautukamaṅgalaḥ ॥ ॥2-14-51॥
Translation
"'...wakes the Earth today, so I wake you. Arise quickly, O Great King! You, for whom the auspicious ceremonies are performed, (please rise)."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"'...आज पृथ्वी को जगाते हैं, उसी प्रकार मैं आपको जगा रहा हूँ। हे महाराज! उठिए। (आप) मंगल-कार्य और कौतुक (विवाह/उत्सव सूत्र) संपन्न करें/करें हुए हैं, अत: शीघ्र उठिए'।"
English Commentary
This implies the crescendo of Sumantra's wake-up call. The imperative Uttiṣṭha (Arise) combined with Āśu (Quickly) shows the pressure of the auspicious hour. He addresses the King as Kṛtakautukamaṅgalaḥ—one who is involved in auspicious rites or for whom the nuptial/festive threads have been tied. It suggests that since the preparations are complete, the host must be present. Sumantra appeals to Dasharatha's sense of duty and the joy of the occasion, unknowingly twisting the knife in the King's heart, as Dasharatha is awake but wishes he were dead or that the night had never ended.

यह सुमन्त्र की स्तुति का निष्कर्ष है। 'उत्तिष्ठ' (उठिए) और 'आशु' (शीघ्र) शब्दों में तात्कालिकता है। सुमन्त्र राजा को याद दिला रहे हैं कि वे 'कृतकौतुकमङ्गलः' हैं—अर्थात वह व्यक्ति जिसके घर में मंगल कार्य और उत्सव की रस्में हो रही हैं। उत्सव वाले घर के स्वामी का देर तक सोना उचित नहीं है। सुमन्त्र को अभी भी लग रहा है कि राजा केवल नींद में हैं। यह श्लोक उस अंतिम क्षण को चिह्नित करता है जब तक दशरथ का दुख बाहरी दुनिया से छिपा हुआ है। इसके तुरंत बाद, वास्तविकता सामने आएगी।
