वरुणाश्चग्निरिन्द्रश्च विजयं प्रदिशन्तु ते ।
गता भगवती रात्रिः कृतकृत्यमिदं तव ॥ ॥२-१४-५३॥
Varuṇāścāgnirindraśca vijayaṃ pradiśantu te । Gatā bhagavatī rātriḥ kṛtakṛtyamidaṃ tava ॥ ॥2-14-53॥
Translation
"...and may Varuna, Agni, and Indra grant you victory. The divine night has passed, and your required task (for the day) is at hand."

"...तथा वरुण, अग्नि और इंद्र आपको विजय प्रदान करें। हे राजन! यह पूजनीय रात्रि बीत गई है और आपका (आज का) आवश्यक कार्य (तैयार) है।"
English Commentary
Sumantra concludes the divine invocation by asking Varuna, Agni, and Indra for Vijayam (victory). He then gently nudges the King regarding the time: the night, referred to respectfully as Bhagavatī (divine/glorious), has passed. The phrase Kṛtakṛtyamidaṃ tava suggests that the tasks for which the King is responsible (specifically the coronation rites) are now pending. Sumantra is effectively acting as the royal alarm clock, signaling that the time for rest is over and the time for the momentous event has arrived.

सुमन्त्र देवताओं की सूची पूरी करते हुए वरुण (जल के देवता), अग्नि और इंद्र से राजा की 'विजय' की कामना करते हैं। फिर वे वास्तविकता पर आते हैं: 'गता भगवती रात्रिः'—रात्रि बीत चुकी है। रात्रि को 'भगवती' (देवी/पूजनीय) कहा गया है क्योंकि वह विश्राम देती है, लेकिन यहाँ यह दशरथ के लिए कालरात्रि (विनाश की रात) थी। 'कृतकृत्यमिदं तव' का अर्थ है कि राजा का जो कर्तव्य (राम का अभिषेक) है, उसका समय आ गया है। सुमन्त्र राजा को यह याद दिला रहे हैं कि नया दिन क्रियाशीलता की मांग कर रहा है।
