Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
निर्जगाम च संप्रीत्या त्वरितो राजशासनात् ।
सुमन्त्रश्चिन्तयामास त्वरितं चोदितस्तया ॥ ॥२-१४-६५॥
nirjagāma ca saṃprītyā tvarito rājaśāsanāt । sumantraścintayāmāsa tvaritaṃ coditastayā ॥ ॥2-14-65॥
Translation
Upon receiving the royal command, Sumantra departed quickly with great joy. Being urged by Kaikeyi to hasten, he began to reflect within himself.

राजा की आज्ञा पाकर सुमन्त्र प्रसन्नतापूर्वक वहां से शीघ्रता से निकले। कैकेयी द्वारा जल्दी करने के लिए प्रेरित किए जाने पर, सुमन्त्र मन ही मन विचार करने लगे।
English Commentary
This verse describes Sumantra's departure with a mixture of alacrity and affection. The use of "samprityā" (with love/joy) indicates that the task of fetching Rama is one he cherishes. He moves "tvarito" (quickly), adhering to the royal command. The urgency imposed by Kaikeyi is misinterpreted by Sumantra as enthusiasm for the upcoming ceremony. As he rushes out, he begins to ponder ("cintayāmāsa") the reasons for this haste, likely constructing a narrative that aligns with the celebratory mood of the city. He imagines that the King and Queen wish to bestow a special blessing or instruction before the main event. This highlights the blinding nature of loyalty and optimism; Sumantra reads the situation through the filter of devotion, unable to perceive the malice driving the urgency.
