Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
सत्यमेक़पदं ब्रह्म सत्ये धर्मः प्रतिष्ठितः ।
सत्यमेवाक्षया वेदाः सत्येनैवाप्यते परम् ॥ ॥२-१४-७॥
Satyamekapadaṃ brahma satye dharmaḥ pratiṣṭhitaḥ । Satyamevākṣayā vedāḥ satyenaivāpyate param ॥ ॥2-14-7॥
Translation
Truth is the one supreme syllable (Brahman); Dharma is established in Truth. Truth is indeed the imperishable Vedas, and through Truth alone is the Supreme State attained.

सत्य ही वह एक पद (शब्द/तत्व) है जो ब्रह्म है। सत्य में ही धर्म प्रतिष्ठित है। सत्य ही अविनाशी वेद है और सत्य से ही परम (मोक्ष) की प्राप्ति होती है।
English Commentary
Kaikeyi escalates the argument to metaphysics. She asserts that Satya (Truth) is synonymous with Brahman (God) and the Vedas. This is a profound theological statement used for a nefarious purpose. She creates a trap where denying her boon equates to denying God and scripture. By equating her petty political maneuver with the highest spiritual reality, she leaves Dasharatha no room to argue on religious grounds. It highlights how rigid adherence to dogma (Truth at all costs) can sometimes be weaponized against the spirit of Dharma (Righteousness).

यह श्लोक अत्यंत विडंबनापूर्ण है। कैकेयी यहाँ सर्वोच्च दार्शनिक ज्ञान बघार रही है। वह उपनिषदों के सार को उद्धृत करती है कि 'सत्य ही ब्रह्म है'। एक ओर वह लोभ और ईर्ष्या से ग्रस्त होकर अधर्म कर रही है, और दूसरी ओर वह 'सत्य' की महिमा गा रही है। यह 'शैतान द्वारा शास्त्रों का उद्धरण' (Devil quoting scripture) जैसा है। वह राजा के आध्यात्मिक भय को जगा रही है कि यदि उन्होंने वचन तोड़ा, तो वे ब्रह्म और वेदों से गिर जाएंगे।
