Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
सज्जं द्युतिकरं श्रीमदभिषेकपुरस्कृतम् ।
पाण्डुरश्च वृषः सज्जः पाण्डुरोऽस्वश्च सुस्थितः ॥ ॥२-१५-११॥
sajjaṃ dyutikaraṃ śrīmadabhiṣekapuraskṛtam । pāṇḍuraśca vṛṣaḥ sajjaḥ pāṇḍuro'svaśca susthitaḥ ॥ ॥2-15-11॥
Translation
The resplendent and glorious materials honored for the coronation are ready. A white bull and a white horse are also ready and well-positioned.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(और) अभिषेक के लिए सम्मानित, कांतिमान और शोभायमान (कलश आदि) तैयार हैं। एक श्वेत बैल (वृष) और एक श्वेत घोड़ा (अश्व) भी भली-भांति स्थित और तैयार हैं।
English Commentary
The grandeur of the coronation includes the finest livestock. A "pāṇḍura" (white) bull and horse are specifically chosen, as white signifies purity and royal stature in Vedic symbolism. These animals are "susthitaḥ" (well-positioned/standing firmly), indicating they are trained and calm amidst the crowds. The verse reiterates that everything is "sajjam" (ready) and "dyutikaram" (resplendent). The text builds a cumulative effect of readiness; every aspect of the ritual, from the smallest seed to the largest animal, is in place.

अभिषेक की शोभायात्रा में पशुओं का भी महत्व है। 'पाण्डुरः' (सफेद) रंग शुद्धता और सात्विकता का प्रतीक है, इसीलिए सफेद बैल और सफेद घोड़े का चयन किया गया है। वैदिक परंपराओं में राजा के अभिषेक के समय इन पशुओं का दर्शन या स्पर्श शुभ माना जाता था। 'सुस्थितः' शब्द बताता है कि वे अपनी जगह पर अनुशासित खड़े हैं। पूरी अयोध्या—जड़ (सामग्री) और चेतन (पशु और मनुष्य)—राम के लिए तैयार है। यह दृश्य एक भव्य चित्रकला जैसा है जो गतिहीन होकर अपने नायक की बाट जोह रहा है।
