चन्द्रभास्करसंकाशम् कुबेरभवनोपमम् ।
महेन्द्रधामप्रतिमं नानापक्षिसमाकुलम् ॥ ॥२-१५-३७॥
Candrabhāskarasaṃkāśam kuberabhavanopamam । Mahendradhāmapratimaṃ nānāpakṣisamākulam ॥ ॥2-15-37॥
Translation
It shone like the sun and the moon, resembling the palace of Kubera and rivaling the abode of Mahendra (Indra), teeming with various kinds of birds.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह भवन सूर्य और चन्द्रमा के समान तेजस्वी, कुबेर के भवन जैसा ऐश्वर्यशाली और इन्द्र के धाम जैसा प्रतीत होता था। वह विभिन्न प्रकार के पक्षियों से भरा हुआ था।
English Commentary
The poet stacks celestial similes to ensure the reader understands the unparalleled status of Rama’s residence. Comparing it to both the sun and moon suggests a balance of blinding splendor and soothing beauty. The reference to Kubera (the god of wealth) emphasizes material richness, while Mahendra (Indra, king of gods) emphasizes royal power. The phrase Nanapaksisamakulam (filled with diverse birds) reinforces the idea of a harmonious ecosystem within the palace grounds. In Sanskrit poetics, a perfect residence is never lifeless stone; it is always vibrant with living creatures, symbolizing the life-affirming energy of its owner.

उपमाओं की श्रृंखला जारी है। सूर्य और चन्द्रमा का एक साथ उल्लेख करने का अर्थ है कि भवन में दिन के सूर्य का तेज और रात्रि के चन्द्रमा की शीतलता/सौम्यता दोनों का समागम था। 'कुबेरभवनोपमम्' धन-धान्य की असीमितता को दर्शाता है, क्योंकि कुबेर धन के देवता हैं। पुनः इंद्र के धाम से तुलना शक्ति और सत्ता को रेखांकित करती है। 'नानापक्षिसमाकुलम्' बताता है कि केवल मोर और सारस ही नहीं, बल्कि अनेक प्रकार के पक्षी वहां विचरण करते थे, जो उस स्थान की जीवंतता और जैव-विविधता को दर्शाता है। यह भवन पृथ्वी पर स्वर्ग का प्रतिरूप जान पड़ता था।
