यादृशी परिषत् तत्र तादृशो दूताअगतः ।
ध्रुवम् अद्य एव माम् राजा यौवराज्ये अभिषेक्ष्यति ॥ ॥२-१६-१९॥
Yādṛśī pariṣat tatra tādṛśo dūtā'gataḥ । Dhruvam adya eva mām rājā yauvarājye abhiṣekṣyati ॥ ॥2-16-19॥
Translation
Judging by the assembly gathered there and the nature of the envoy who has arrived, it is certain that the King will consecrate me as the Crown Prince this very day.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वहाँ (पिता के पास) जैसी राजसभा जुड़ी है और जैसे दूत बुलाने आये हैं, उससे प्रतीत होता है कि महाराज आज ही निश्चित रूप से मेरा युवराज पद पर अभिषेक करेंगे।
English Commentary
This verse captures Rama’s innate optimism and purity of thought. Even though the summons is urgent, which could imply a crisis, Rama interprets it through the lens of the prevailing festive atmosphere. The word Dhruvam (certainly) underscores his confidence. He reassures Sita that this call is purely for the auspicious coronation. There is a profound dramatic irony here: at the very moment Rama expects sovereignty, the plot for his exile is finalized in Kaikeyi’s chamber. It highlights the unpredictability of fate—while Rama prepares for a throne, destiny prepares him for the forest.

इस श्लोक में श्रीराम के आशावादी और सकारात्मक दृष्टिकोण का चित्रण है। यद्यपि उन्हें अत्यंत शीघ्रता में बुलाया गया है, जो किसी संकट का संकेत भी हो सकता था, परंतु श्रीराम का मन पवित्र और निष्पाप है, इसलिए वे स्थिति का सकारात्मक अर्थ निकालते हैं। 'ध्रुवम्' शब्द उनके आत्मविश्वास को दर्शाता है। वे सीता जी को आश्वस्त कर रहे हैं कि यह बुलावा मंगलकारी है। यह विडंबना (irony) भी है कि जिस क्षण वे राज्याभिषेक की आशा कर रहे हैं, उसी क्षण कैकेयी के कक्ष में उनके वनवास की पटकथा तैयार हो चुकी है। यह श्लोक मानव जीवन की अनिश्चितता और विधि के विधान को भी रेखांकित करता है।
