Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
दीक्षितम् व्रतसम्पन्नम् वराजिनधरम् शुचिम् ।
कुरङ्गपाणिम् च पश्यन्ती त्वाम् भजाम्यहम् ॥ ॥२-१६-२३॥
Dīkṣitam vratasampannam varājinadharam śucim । Kurangapāṇim ca paśyantī tvām bhajāmyaham ॥ ॥2-16-23॥
Translation
I shall serve you when I see you initiated (Dikshita), fulfilling vows, wearing the excellent deerskin, pure, and holding the deer-horn in your hand.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(अभिषेक के बाद) दीक्षित हुए, व्रत का पालन करते हुए, श्रेष्ठ मृगचर्म धारण किए, पवित्र और हाथ में मृगशृंग लिए हुए आपको देखकर मैं आपकी सेवा करूँगी।
English Commentary
Sita here focuses not on royal luxury, but on the sanctity of Vedic rituals. The verses describe the attire of a King undergoing the sacred consecration ceremony (Diksha)—wearing deerskin and holding a deer horn (kurangapāṇim). This reveals Sita’s values; she prioritizes Dharma and spiritual brilliance over material pomp. She eagerly awaits the sight of Rama in his purified, ascetic-like state during the ritual, pledging her service to him in that holy capacity. It highlights the spiritual dimension of their relationship.

यहाँ सीता जी राजसी ठाठ-बाट की नहीं, बल्कि वैदिक कर्मकांड की पवित्रता की कामना कर रही हैं। राज्याभिषेक के दौरान राजा को कठोर व्रतों का पालन करना होता है, जिसे 'दीक्षा' कहते हैं। मृगचर्म और मृगशृंग धारण करना प्राचीन वैदिक यज्ञों की वेशभूषा थी। सीता जी का यह कथन सिद्ध करता है कि वे भोग-विलास की अपेक्षा धर्मानुष्ठान को अधिक महत्व देती हैं। वे उस क्षण की प्रतीक्षा कर रही हैं जब श्रीराम आध्यात्मिक तेज से संपन्न होकर यज्ञमंडप में विराजेंगे। यह उनके सात्विक प्रेम का परिचायक है।
