पश्यन्ती सिद्धयात्रम् त्वाम् पित्र्यम् राज्यमुपस्थितम् ।
सर्वसीमन्तिनीभ्यश्च सीताम् सीमन्तिनीम् वराम् ॥ ॥२-१६-४०॥
Paśyantī siddhayātram tvām pitryam rājyamupasthitam । Sarvasīmantinībhyaśca sītām sīmantinīm varām ॥ ॥2-16-40॥
Translation
"(She rejoices) seeing you setting out successfully to claim the ancestral kingdom. And among all married women, Sita is truly the best."

"(कौशल्या प्रसन्न होंगी) जो तुम्हें पिता का राज्य प्राप्त करने के लिए सफल यात्रा करते हुए देख रही हैं। और समस्त सौभाग्यवती नारियों में सीता ही सबसे श्रेष्ठ हैं।"
English Commentary
The term Sīmantinī refers to a married woman (literally, one who parts her hair). The women of Ayodhya declare Sita to be the Varām (best/foremost) among them. They view Rama's procession as a Siddhayātram (successful journey) to the throne. This reflects the public perception that Sita’s fortune is unmatched. The focus shifts from Rama’s glory to the validation of Sita’s status as his consort, highlighting the couple as the ideal pair in the public eye.

यहाँ 'सीमन्तिनी' शब्द का प्रयोग हुआ है, जिसका अर्थ है 'मांग में सिन्दूर भरने वाली' या सौभाग्यवती स्त्री। अयोध्या की नारियां मानती हैं कि सीता संसार की सबसे भाग्यशाली पत्नी हैं क्योंकि उन्हें राम जैसा पति मिला है। वे राम की यात्रा को 'सिद्धयात्रा' (सफल यात्रा) कह रही हैं, यह मानकर कि राज्याभिषेक निश्चित है। यह श्लोक सीता के प्रति प्रजा के सम्मान और ईर्ष्या-मिश्रित प्रशंसा (positive envy) को दर्शाता है।
