रोहिणीव शशाङ्केन रामसम्योगमाप या ।
इति प्रासादशृङ्गेषु प्रमदाभिर्नरोत्तमः ॥ ॥२-१६-४२॥
Rohiṇīva śaśāṅkena rāmasamyogamāpa yā । Iti prāsādaśṛṅgeṣu pramadābhirnarottamaḥ ॥ ॥2-16-42॥
Translation
"(She) who has attained union with Rama, just as Rohini is united with the Moon." Thus spoke the beautiful women standing on the pinnacles of the palaces about the Best of Men.

"(वह सीता) जिसने राम का संयोग वैसे ही प्राप्त किया है, जैसे रोहिणी चंद्रमा से मिलती है।" प्रसादों के शिखरों पर खड़ी सुंदरियों ने नरोत्तम राम के बारे में ये बातें कीं।
English Commentary
The comparison of Rama and Sita to the Moon (Shashanka) and the star Rohini is a classic literary device symbolizing an eternal, celestial bond. Rohini is considered the favorite consort of the Moon god. By using this simile, the women elevate the royal couple to a divine status. The verse concludes the description of the procession with the voices of the young women (Pramadā) on the rooftops, affirming Rama as Narottama (Best of Men) and validating his marriage as a perfect union.

रोहिणी और चंद्रमा का मिलन भारतीय साहित्य में आदर्श दांपत्य का प्रतीक है। रोहिणी नक्षत्र चंद्रमा की सबसे प्रिय पत्नी मानी जाती है। अयोध्या की स्त्रियां सीता-राम की जोड़ी को उसी आकाशीय स्तर पर देखती हैं। 'प्रमदाभिः' (युवतियों/सुंदरियों द्वारा) की गई यह चर्चा दिखाती है कि राम केवल बुजुर्गों के ही नहीं, बल्कि युवाओं के भी आदर्श थे। यह सर्ग का समापन एक अत्यंत सुखद और मंगलमय वातावरण में करता है।
