Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
तव तु अहम् क्षमम् मन्ये न उत्सुकस्य विलम्बनम् ।
राम तस्मात् इतः शीघ्रम् वनम् त्वम् गन्तुम् अर्हसि ॥२-१९-१४॥
tava tu aham kṣamam manye na utsukasya vilambanam |
rāma tasmāt itaḥ śīghram vanam tvam gantum arhasi ॥2-19-14॥
Translation
"But, I do not consider delay appropriate for you who are eager (to go). Therefore, O Rama, you ought to go quickly from here to the forest."

"परन्तु, चूँकि तुम (वन जाने के लिए) उत्सुक हो, मैं विलंब करना उचित नहीं मानती। इसलिए हे राम! तुम्हें यहाँ से शीघ्र वन चले जाना चाहिए।"
English Commentary
Kaikeyi manipulates the narrative skillfully. Rama displayed readiness out of duty, but Kaikeyi reframes it as him being 'eager' or 'anxious' (utsukasya) to leave. She argues that since he is so keen, delay is inappropriate (na... kshamam), twisting his obedience into impatience. This allows her to push him out under the guise of supporting his decision. The phrase 'you ought to go quickly' reveals her desperation to physically remove him from the capital before any public outcry or change of heart can intervene.

कैकेयी यहाँ बहुत चतुराई से शब्दों का खेल खेलती हैं। राम ने कर्तव्य-पालन के लिए उत्साह दिखाया था, लेकिन कैकेयी उसे 'उत्सुकता' (eagerness) का नाम देकर यह जताती हैं कि राम स्वयं ही जल्दी जाना चाहते हैं। वह कहती हैं, 'विलंब करना उचित नहीं', मानो वह राम की ही मदद कर रही हों। वास्तव में, वह राम को महल से बाहर निकालने के लिए बेचैन हैं। 'गन्तुम् अर्हसि' (तुम्हें जाना चाहिए) एक आदेशात्मक स्वर है, जो यह स्पष्ट करता है कि अब राम का यहाँ स्वागत नहीं है।
